Dirted 2 gallon Betta Jar

Found a 2 gallon cookie jar...

It is going to be my Betta's new home.  An inch and a half of organic potting soil capped with Flora Max, Planted with some Needle Leaf Java Fern, Crypt , Xmas moss, Naja guppy grass, floaters and some Ramshorn snails.  Lit with an Ikea LED desk lamp and a nano heater and he has a new home!

He sits just to the left of my keyboard.

Blue Velvet

I got my Blue Velvet Shrimp!  They are small but growing fast.
Here they are eating along side the Cory pygmaus, I see five in this shot. The shrimp are about 1/4 inch long and should be about an inch when full grown.

So three cory's , 10 BV shrimp and some snails!

.

10 gallon update/ my first berried shrimp!!!

I have a bunch or yellow Neocardina Shrimp in my ten gallon.  One of my bigger gals is berried...my first ever berried shrimp.  I feel like a new grandma!
She is in the middle under the leaf.

See that belly full of eggs?

I have made some changes in this tank as well.  Got rid of the Pencil fish.  They became very aggressive once full grown and were attacking the other fish and shrimp.  Replaced them with more CPD's (crystal pearl danios), and some Rasbora Maculata juvis.

Here are a few professional photos of the fish gang:

Rasbora Maculata

CPD's

klown killi fish

Pseudomugil gertrudae

All these fish are considered nano fish and stay under an inch long when full grown.  They live well with my yellow shrimp but will eat the baby shrimp if they can find them.  I have a lot of moss in the tank for the baby shrimp to hide in so hopefully some will survive.

fuval edge 6gal update

Well, modifications have been made, as always.

Pair of Bamboo Shrimp
Lost some PFR's and my wood shrimp due to a huge PH swing from Petco black sand that was added.  Live and learn.  Now have two bamboo shrimp and about 20 PFR's locally sourced.  One of the adults is berried already!  She is so solid red that it is really hard to see the eggs unless she is backlit.  I thought she was moving kinda slow.  When they are loaded up with eggs they really tend to slow down!

Berried PFR ( Painted fire red cherry shrimp ) on mini Christmas moss

Also in the tank are 5 Juvenal Corydoras Hastus.  Sweet as can be!  I love these little miniature cory catfish.

Still houses Mr. Pagoda snail
I've had this dude a long time!

My 55 gallon Rainbow Tank

This tank was a low tech Rainbow tank that I sold to my Dentist in late 2011.  I still enjoy visiting my fish every six months!

I special ordered the rainbows from a breeder in CA.

He they are at the Dentist Office March 2013
They are still growing!  The tank itself looks like crap, oh well.

5.2 Mr. Aqua Shrimp/Cory tank

I have always loved fish and aquariums.  As a small child I enjoyed watching my dad who raised fish during the 1940's thru the early 1060's in Anchorage Alaska.  He would bring his treasure back from Washington State and the East Coast, raise and sell fish and plants to the local pet store.

My latest tank...soon to be a shrimp tank with tiny corys and a nerite snail.

Many thanks to Roy from the planted tanks forum for some lovely plants!
